KYBELLA FAQ’S

What is Kybella?

Kybella is an injectable treatment that contains synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid naturally occurs in your body, where it helps to break down dietary fat for absorption.

Kybella is commonly used to eliminate excess fat beneath the chin. It’s the only FDA-approved injectable treatment for treating fat in this area. However, physicians have been successfully using Kybella in other areas with impressive results, for years.

How long will Kybella last?

Kybella is a long lasting solution for bra fat. The synthetic deoxycholic acid in Kybella breaks down unwanted fat cells in the treatment area. Once this occurs your body will metabolize those fat cells and you will be rid of them forever.

Is there downtime? Does is hurt?

Kybella is administered via a series of small injections. You may experience a bit of a stinging sensation in the injection area, but this is temporary. There may be a bit of swelling in the area and patients that are bruise-prone may experience some bruising in the injection area. You will be able to return to work and normal activities the same day.

How many treatments will I  need?

This will depend on the amount of fat that will need to be treated. One to four sessions at 4-6 week intervals is recommended. You will see a noticable decrease in fat with each treatment.
