Banish the bulges with Kybella

Bra fat is something that no woman wants to see in the mirror. These are annoying, unsightly bulges that appear at the top of your bra near your armpit. Many women complain that they show through clothes and make them feel self conscience.

Bra fat can be caused by age, genetics or other factors out of your control. In many cases, diet and exercise may not be enough to resolve the issue.

At Dermatology & Laser of Del Mar, Deborah H. Atkin, M.D. can help you to banish your bulges with Kybella.  Kybella is an injectible medication made up of synthetic deoxycholic acid, a substance that naturally occurrs in the body. Kybella can eliminate excess fat and boost your self-image.

If you are battling bra fat, Kybella may be the solution you are looking for.

What is Kybella?

Kybella is an injectable treatment that contains synthetic deoxycholic acid. Deoxycholic acid naturally occurs in your body, where it helps to break down dietary fat for absorption.

Kybella is commonly used to eliminate excess fat beneath the chin. It’s the only FDA-approved injectable treatment for treating fat in this area. However, physicians have been successfully using Kybella in other areas with impressive results, for years.

How long will Kybella last?

Kybella is a long lasting solution for bra fat. The synthetic deoxycholic acid in Kybella breaks down unwanted fat cells in the treatment area. Once this occurs your body will metabolize those fat cells and you will be rid of them forever.

Is there downtime? Does is hurt?

Kybella is administered via a series of small injections. You may experience a bit of a stinging sensation in the injection area, but this is temporary. There may be a bit of swelling in the area and patients that are bruise-prone may experience some bruising in the injection area. You will be able to return to work and normal activities the same day.

How many treatments will I  need?

This will depend on the amount of fat that will need to be treated. One to four sessions at 4-6 week intervals is recommended. You will see a noticable decrease in fat with each treatment.
