Eczema

Deborah H. Atkin, M.D. employs a full range of treatment options to improve eczema, a common inflammatory skin condition. Eczema is a chronic condition that ultimately results in dryness, swelling, redness, itching, crusting, cracking, and, in severe cases, bleeding. Although most common in infants, the condition is often genetic and can affect many people into adulthood. Typically caused by a hypersensitive reaction, like that of an allergic reaction, eczema can lead to infection and even permanent scarring if left untreated.

Treatment

While there is no cure for eczema, Dr. Atkin provides patients with many ways to successfully manage symptoms, including oral medications, topical treatments, and sometimes dietary changes.
