Introducing ThermiVa, Feminine Rejuvenation

Dermatology & Laser of Del Mar has added ThermiVA, vaginal rejuvenation to its menu of non-invasive treatments.

Vaginal rejuvenation has become a #trendingtreatment in recent months. More and more women are looking for a way to improve their feminine wellness, while getting an aesthetic improvement. For these women ThermiVA may be just what the doctor ordered!

ThermiVA® uses radio frequency to create a heat reaction that addresses the changes that occur as a result of vaginal childbirth, menopause and natural aging. It is a quick, non-invasive, zero downtime treatment to help our female patients feel more comfortable, confident and youthful.

Here are some of the commonly asked questions patients  ask when consulting for ThermiVA in our Del Mar dermatology office.

 Is ThermiVA a laser?

ThermiVA is not a laser. It uses radio frequency to gently heat the tissue and stimulate collagen production. This increase in collagen tightens the tissues of your labia, reducing sagging for a more youthful appearance.

ThermiVA also tightens the vaginal canal for heightened sensation for you and your partner.

How many treatments will I need to get?

We recommend 3 treatments, performed at 3-4 week intervals. You will experience a gradual improvement with each treatment.

How long do the results last?

On average patients report a long term improvement of a year or more. These improvements can be easily maintained with an annual maintenance treatment.

Will ThermiVA help with post- menopausal vaginal dryness?

Yes, patients report an improvement in lubrication and vaginal moisture inside and outside after ThermiVA.

Does it hurt? What can I expect during treatment?

There is no discomfort involved in ThermiVA. The treatment consists of gently heating the internal and external vaginal tissue with a thin, tapered thermal radio frequency probe. This handheld probe is single-use only, which means that each time you have a session performed, you can be confident knowing that a fresh, sterile probe is being used. This is entirely non-surgical,  and you will be able to leave the office and resume your normal activities.

How long do I need to wait before I resume sexual activity?

You can resume sexual activity the same day as your thermiVA treatment.
