INTRACEL FAQ’s

How is INTRACEL RF performed?

A strong topical anesthetic cream is applied to the treatment area roughly 30 – 60 minutes  before the procedure. This is to ensure patient comfort during the treatment.

A sterile treatment tip is installed on to the device handpiece prior to treatment. The treatment tip is comprised of  tiny insulated needles that are used to penetrate deep into the skin’s dermis and effectively heat the tissue to the desired temperature within microseconds.

Treatment takes approximately 30 – 60 minutes, depending upon the area being treated. Immediately after treatment the body’s natural healing process  kicks into gear to produce a new, healthier, tighter skin structure.

What are the benefits of INTRACEL RF?

The treatment is excellent for general firming and wrinkle reduction on the face, neck, jaw, upper lip, around the eyes, mouth and jowls. However, it’s equally effective when applied to other areas of the body such as the thighs, buttocks, abdomen, and knees.

Intracel “injects” heat energy directly into the skin’s deepest layers. This activates your body’s own collagen production, increasing collagen and elastin  Among other benefits, this approach results in the production of more collagen, leading to firmer, smoother skin and smaller pores. Intracel may reduce the production of sebum and can be iexceptional for reduction of active acne and acne scarring.

Intracel can treat any number of common cosmetic skin issues, among them:

  • Rough, uneven skin texture
  • Enlarged pores
  • Facial folds, fine lines and wrinkling
  • Acne and acne scars
  • Scars and stretchmarks
  • Skin laxity on the arms, thighs and abdomen

Patients have uniformly been pleased with the results!

Does INTRACEL RF hurt?

We are able to control any discomfort from the procedure with the topical anesthetic. Most patients describe the procedure as feeling slightly tingling or prickley, but say it is not painful.

Post procedure there may be a mild amount of tenderness to the touch. An oral anelgesic such as Tylenol may be taken for any discomfort.

What is the healing process and post care?

Immediately after the procedure you may have a scant amount of pin point bleeding or oozing. This resolves quickly. We will apply a cool mask to your skin for comfort, followed by a deep hydrating cream and sunscreen.

You will use gentle cleansers, moisturizers and sunscreen for the first 1-2 days. It is then recommended that you start a regimen of growth factor serum and a hylauronic acid serum 1-2 times a day to enhance healing and maximize collagen stimulation.

You may be a bit “blushed” in appearance for the first 1-2 days. You will then experience some tightness and dryness as the healing process continues. In very rare instances patients may notice slight bruising.

How many treatments will I need?

Nearly all patients report improvement in their skin texture and tone after even one treatment!

The number of treatments you will need will depend on your skin’s condition, the amount and type of skin damage. Your own personal expectations will also be a factor in the number of treatments.

We offer the treatments in a series of one, or a package of two or more treatments. Package prices are discounted.
